6 Tips for Using Glass Jars for Kitchen Storage
1. Choose the right glass container for storage
Make sure to use high-quality glass containers that are temperature-resistant,pressure-resistant,and well-sealed.
Sealing methods such as built-in sealing ring, thread + sealing ring, snap + sealing ring and external sealing ring are all available.
2. Cleaning and disinfection of containers
Before using new or long-term unused containers,be sure to carefully clean and disinfect them.
It is best to boil the container in boiling water for 3 to 5 minutes to sterilize it.
3. Make sure food is dry
High humidity inside the jar may cause food to spoil,so make sure the surface of the food and the inside of the container are dry before storing food.
4. Food should not exceed 2/3 of the container volume
This helps maintain the freshness of the food inside the jar and avoids condensation forming as the food shrinks.
5. Keep it sealed
After placing food, make sure the jar lid is tightly closed to prevent air, particles, and moisture from entering the jar and affecting the quality and shelf life of the food.
6. Standard label
Labeling cans with food type and storage date helps identify, use, manage and avoid expiration.
